So, yea looking at the calendar are we double booked? No, we’re just expanding helping our pals with Charlotte’s Trips For Kids with this most rad annual day on a mountain bike. There will be something for everyone, so bring the bike, rock the helmet and bring a kid or more! What is this day???
IMBA Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (TKMBD) is an annual event that seeks to introduce the joy of mountain biking to the next generation. Created in 2004 and recognized by the U.S. Congress, TKMBD is officially celebrated every year on the first Saturday in October. More than 100,000 youth have discovered and celebrated the joy of pedaling two wheels on dirt at TKMBD events, and many have gone on to become passionate riders, volunteer trail advocates and even high school mountain bike racers.
Coming back for another community role of fun, CHARLOTTE Kid’s Fest! Best part, it’s all FREE…
Fueled by imagination, creativity, and giggles, the Charlotte Kids Fest will inspire and motivate young minds with professional artistic, creative, playful, and educational experiences. Enjoy the outdoors of UNC Charlotte’s campus with hands-on activities, performers, food trucks, and more!
We’ll be back this year with portions of our “Rad Little Rodeo” and bringing back the “Pages & Pedals Tour” with free books for the kids while supplies last of course.
**So, yea obviously not our event, however we’re just stoked to be a part of it all! While our specific details are still being critiqued, we do know that the “Rad Little Rodeo” for kids is coming back! What is Outdoor Market you ask,
Outdoor Market offers a unique setting for guests to get hands-on experience with gear from top brands in the outdoor industry. Over three days, this festival offers guests the opportunity to demo bikes, trail running shoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, climbing gear and more throughout the 1,300 acre facility at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. During the festival, guests can also participate in group rides, runs and paddles, as well as yoga practices and educational, participatory, and tech clinics. Opportunities to unwind from the festival’s active nature include craft beer, food, and films.
Here’s a peak from our little view last year, except we were not operating the rodeo this time.
Honored to be asked to roll out the “Rad Little Rodeo” once more for one of Charlotte’s original communities nestled between the Plaza Mid-wood & Shamrock communities. We’ll be on hand doing what we do for YOU! Bring the bike & bring your helmets…we’ll handle the rest. What is Festival in the Heights you ask?
“The annual Festival in the Heights is an outdoor gathering put on by the Country Club Heights Neighborhood Association in partnership with our community sponsors. We provide free BBQ, hot dogs (and veggie dogs), a bounce house for kids, local music, vendors and good ol’ neighborly fun! It serves as a backdrop for our local school support fund-raising efforts. We donate our profits to the three local CMS schools in our feeder pattern. Shamrock Gardens Elementary, Eastway Middle and Garinger High.
The festival draws an estimated 300 people and includes vendor opportunities for local businesses, artists and organizations who line Jeff St. to form our vendor alley. Past festivals have featured a performance by Drums for Life, face painting, local bee keepers, tree banding demonstrations, crafters, jewelry artists and more.”
Details coming soon, let’s just say, it will be for your own good to attend this most awesome opportunity to “do some good”! This event will be in support of and awareness to the desired upkeep and improvement to the North Meck. Pump Track and MTB trails. Food, Music, Brew, Demo’s, Skill Sessions & yea, our Rad Little Rodeo. Until then, stay tuned!
