**So, yea obviously not our event, however we’re just stoked to be a part of it all! While our specific details are still being critiqued, we do know that the “Rad Little Rodeo” for kids is coming back! What is Outdoor Market you ask,
Outdoor Market offers a unique setting for guests to get hands-on experience with gear from top brands in the outdoor industry. Over three days, this festival offers guests the opportunity to demo bikes, trail running shoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, climbing gear and more throughout the 1,300 acre facility at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. During the festival, guests can also participate in group rides, runs and paddles, as well as yoga practices and educational, participatory, and tech clinics. Opportunities to unwind from the festival’s active nature include craft beer, food, and films.
Here’s a peak from our little view last year, except we were not operating the rodeo this time.
Coming back for another round is our crew of few rad Dad’s, their Grom’s & a most awesome MOM! We’ll be out HAVING FUN on our bikes in a variety of the available categories provided by the great folk at Start 2 Finish CHARLOTTE. If interested in rolling with the team, hit us up through our CONTACT Page, no bench warmers!
What is Winter Short Track Series?
The Team competition will consist of team members across all categories earning points. The points will be derived from a new system called “Pack Points”. Pack Points are based upon the number of people racing in your category, with a minimum of 10 points for the winner. The top six people from your team will be scored.1st Place Team – $250 and Winners Trophy/ 2nd Place Team – $150/ 3rd Place Team – $100
The series awards will be handed out this Sunday after each respective race. It will take a little more time as each will need to be calculated. We will have a podium presentation for the top 5 overall in each category. The short course brings a unique and fun style of racing to the Charlotte area – short-track mountain bike racing on a 3/4 mile trail with banked turns. It’s a cross between a criterium, BMX, cyclo-cross and single-track, super fast and spectator-friendly. Charlotte Sports Cycling and the Tarheel Trailblazers have worked hard to create a trail that’s exciting for the race participants and spectators. Participants, based on category, will race 15 to 25 laps on the fast course. All of the events will be held at Renaissance Park. We plan to have food, an event photographer, and music at all of the events.
