We’re coming back with another installment of our Friends & Family Bike Rides this January! Why January, well in between mini-camps, race seasons, holidays, we’d figure what a good time to reconnect in a non-trail themed ride. Join us, our family & friends on this 4 mile ride that takes place in Concord. Best part, either mid-ride or post ride, we’ll be stopping at the locally owned & family operated Downtown Donuts for their most clever crafted donuts creations & fresh hot coffee!
Another most awesome bit of goodness, is whether you or we get to ride or not; the coffee will be HOT & DONUTS fresh. Downtown Donuts will be donating 20% of every sell to our program. So, be a part of this adventure, let’s earn our donuts together on the ride, then savor every bite and be sure to tell your Cabarrus friends and family of this opportunity to support a small family owned business, who supports yet a family and friends epic adventure.
Park in the parking lot below the tennis courts at Les Myers Park off of LAWNDALE Ave SE. which runs between UNION Street & BRANCHVIEW. Look for the big concrete donut in picture above, left side of the Community Center. Gather there to launch off into the wild blue. Wheel’s roll at 1:15PM
What’s the route you ask??? Here ya go:
Back in action, Charlotte’s longstanding local Winter Short Track Series. So proud of our own crew, first year team ranked 7th out of 60 teams & just last year we placed 4th in the points chase out of 65 teams. Come for fun, a bit of racing & stay for the hot soups & brownies! Interested in racing with our crew, as our crew, regardless of a Dad or not, well we welcome all & you def don’t have to be a spandex clad pro-type, cause we’re not! Racing for our crew comes with perks, just sayin’, as we’re sponsored by Maxxis Tires, Magura USA, ODI Grips, Honey Stinger, Cane Creek Cycling Components & Ride 100%….so, wanna rock, contact us direct, we’d be glad to have ya & upon registration, be sure to input “Bikin’ Dads Adventures” under the team name.
The short course brings a unique and fun style of racing to the Charlotte area – short-track mountain bike racing on a 3/4 mile trail with banked turns. It’s a cross between a criterium, BMX, cyclo-cross and single-track, super fast and spectator-friendly. Charlotte Sports Cycling and the Tarheel Trailblazers have worked hard to create a trail that’s exciting for the race participants and spectators. Participants, based on category, will race 15 to 25 laps on the fast course. All of the events will be held at Renaissance Park. We plan to have food, an event photographer, and music at all of the events.
