12 Nov Cranksgiving Charlotte 2020
Get on your bike and ride to the store to buy some food to donate to Loaves and Fishes. Drop off your donations at Charlotte Cycles on Sat (11 am – 5 pm) or Sun (1-4 pm). Cranksgiving is a food drive on bikes. Cranksgiving is an annual event occurring in many USA cities around Thanksgiving. Beginning in New York at the turn of the century, Cranksgiving is a charity bicycle ride to collect food for our neighbors in need.
This year is different. No rules, no manifests, no races….
Due to COVID-19 , this will be a drop off event instead of the group event it has been in years past. Ride your bike to drop off your food donations on Saturday, Nov. 14 or Sunday, Nov. 15. Cash/check donations also accepted. Every $1 buys 4 lbs of food. Make checks payable to Loaves and Fishes.
The ride is free! You’ll need to buy your food donations. Remember to bring a backpack, reusable bags, or some way to transport your food. Bring your waiver.
When you get to Charlotte Cycles, weigh your food and give us your email if you want to be entered to win a prize. We’ll have a few raffle prizes and a few prizes for fun social media posts and maybe another for most food collected (by weight). If you want to be on a team, just write in the team name and we’ll tally up the results.
